Gate 1 is part of the Tonsley Innovation Centre.
It is on the MAB Eastern Drive and is located immediately under the 6 storey Flinders University building..
Gate 1 may be reached from South Road, by navigating to the Tonsley entrance ( on the same exit as the Blackwood one, just BEFORE the Expressway entrance, if you are coming from town. If you are heading to Adelaide, the entrance is a turn left after passing under the Ayliffe Road bridge.)
Park near the Flinders building area, which is gate 1, and then head west (toward the sunset). After about 200 metres walk you will come upon a large treed lawn on your right, on the north side of the entrance area. This is not the Central forest, which is farther south and has walkways through it.
Our lawn, which is outside, has mature trees, and seats at the north end.
TOILETS AND WATER
We have the toilet swipe card, and this gets you into the ladies loo near the micro x building, about 200m away.
Water is from a tap by the seats near our lawn.
SECURITY
The security team welcomes us and has camera coverage plus walking patrols up till 10 pm each night. The entire complex is well lit 24/7 and is frequented after 6 pm by unicyclists, scooter riders, model car (Scalectrix type) fans, skaters, cyclists, dog walkers, runners, and squash players. There is even a small gym zone in the center of the complex, which is free and open to all. Although you will see people moving around, they could not care less about us and never cause any worry. We have many safe spaces to work in and everyone is polite and cooperative.
GETTING LOST
Well done if you didn't...Tonsley is huge. I can always be found at the lawn, in view of Gate1. However, if you get lost, here is my number.
